2004-2006 STAMPEDE SPORTSTER 240 WIDE TIRE KIT
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
NOTES:
This kit contains the basic parts for installation of the Stampede 2004-2006 240 Wide Tire Kit for XLs. Depending on wheel design, some additional spacers may be required. Exhaust brackets may need to be modified or fabricated and must be mounted in their original locations on the engine. Additional spacing and /or mounting brackets for various components may be required on some custom applications.
This kit is sold AS IS. Installation should be done by a qualified bike builder. All clearances must be checked with suspension travel figured in. This kit is not D.O.T. approved.
1.) Start by removing the seat, rear fender, exhaust, pulley cover, swingarm, etc.
2.) Using the new fender supports as a template, mark the existing supports for the cut. Cut off the old fender supports and temporarily bolt on the new ones.
3.) Temporarily install the new swingarm, wheel, pulleys, belt, and brake.
4.) Center the wheel in the frame with a large axle spacer on the pulley side, the stock spacer between the wheel and brake mount, and a small spacer between the brake mount and swingarm. Depending on the wheel design, the axle spacers may need to be modified.
5.) An 11 fender will need to be notched out to allow it to fit over the stock frame rails under the seat. Once the fender is in the desired position and the seat fitment is correct, use the stock fender support covers to mark the location in the new supports. Additional small spacers will need to be fabricated or purchased to space the fender support covers out from the fender to protect the paint on final assembly.
6.) After the bike is completely mocked up, the supports can be welded in place. All welding should be done by a certified welder.

**WARNING** Before riding the motorcycle, all clearances must be checked and all bolts tightened to OEM specifications.
This kit is sold AS IS. It is the responsibility of the person installing the kit to make sure that there is adequate tire clearance and that all parts are installed correctly.
Due to the frame modification involved, it is recommended that a professional bike builder install this kit.
